Alyss, Babymouse and The Flying Beavers: Writing Graphic Novels
Three authors/illustrators will talk about creating graphic novels for children and teens. They will share their process of writing and illustrating graphic novels and the appeal of these novels for kids.

A Thousand Words Made Easy: A Workshop on Cartooning
In this workshop for children ages 9-12, the author of the popular comic series on Babymouse will show how he creates his cartoons for these books and will invite kids to try their hand at illustrating a special event through cartoons.

I saw you at the Alyss panel and I just wanted to give you a huge thumbs up for your mini rant on kids needing well rounded media literacy, not just traditional literacy.
...
I had a question too, but now I have forgotten it, just as I forgot to ask it when you signed my books. :( I will come back and ask it I remember it.
Glad you enjoyed the panel! It was one of the best panels I've been part of.
I should probably write up a blog post on the media literacy angle. (I talk about it in some of my presentations to educators, but I don't think I've put it online before.)
And no pressure on the follow-up question! Come back anytime.
